INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS
In 1991, when the Republic of Azerbaijan regained state independence for the second time, international relations began to be established in the postal area. Thus, the Azerbaijani postal service has taken its successful steps towards integration into the world and is still in the process. Today "Azerpost" LLC has managed to carry out international postal exchange directly or transit with almost all countries of the world. Azerpost is the only national postal operator of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which maintains contacts with many international organizations, actively participates as a member or observer at international events.
There is undeniable services of our national leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of communication as well as in all spheres in Azerbaijan. Thanks to the direct attention and care of Heydar Aliyev, the President of the Republic, the second stage of communication development began in 1993. As a result of the policy of the head of state, as a result of the stability of the country, foreign investors were attracted to the republic, and the basis for the post and communication development was laid.
In April 1993, Azerbaijan became a member of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). This event created great opportunities for the expansion of the postal service of the republic. In addition, the Azerbaijani postal administration was established in December 1991 by the Regional Cooperation Organization (RATC) in the field of Communications, the Organization of Economic Cooperation (ECO) in November 1992 and the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) , Joined the Eurasian organization in June 2001 and contributed to the work of these institutions.
In February 2004, after the establishment of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, postal activity in the international arena became more widespread. After gaining independence, the representatives of the Azerbaijani postal office took part for the first time at the 23rd Congress of the UPU held in Bucharest, Romania, and great results were achieved there. Examples include strengthening the fight against illegal postal stamps, and being elected to the Administrative Council, one of the highest legislative bodies of Azerbaijan.
At present, due to membership in the Administrative Council of the UPU, there are many commitments on the Azerbaijani mail and are actively involved in all the activities of the organization. For example, a team of mail specialists regularly recruited to participate in meetings of councils, councils, and working groups of the UPU.
Azerpost LLC is currently cooperating with 173 countries around the world through international customer service (International online inquiry system) for international mail parcels. It carries out joint operations with the postal operator of 126 countries around the world with international registered mail. "Azerpost" LLC has been monitoring all 35 countries with cooperation with international postal coupons at present and within the framework of existing agreements on registered mails and 35 countries on a contractual basis.
"Azerpost" LLC will be awarded with the Gold Certificate of the World Postal Union for Quality Management in 2013, the S42 Certificate of Entry in 2015, and in 2018 by the Decision of the Board of Trustees of the Service Quality Foundation (IFC) to the "Best Menencment" Certification was awarded.
Azerbaijan's postal service has received good results on the international postal service (EMS). Thus, the Azerepetpocht Communications Company, which is a branch of "Azerpost" LLC, has been continuously raising the quality of its services and has done a number of successful projects in this direction. At present the enterprise is famous not only in our country, but also in the international arena. The international class certificates issued to the hospital also confirm that. Every year, with the task and financial support of the EMS Cooperative of the World Postal Union, independent consulting companies conduct an inspection and assessment of the quality of services provided by EMS operators throughout the world, and the results are announced and certificates are issued. According to the results of 2002, the communication enterprise "AzerEkspresspocht" won the bronze, two years silver on the results of 2003 and 2004, and nine years according to the results of 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015 gold certificate and 2 times in 2013 and 2017 respectively, and the "Care for Customer" certificate.
Another important step in the development of international relations of "Azerpost" LLC was the implementation of the project "Financial Services Development" with the financial support of the World Bank. At present, postal administrations of many countries make trips to "Azerpost" LLC to familiarize themselves with the achievements of Azerpocht LLC within this project.
The favorable geostrategic position of Azerbaijan, as a result of the purposeful policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, the formation of regional and international transport corridors in our republic and the transformation of Baku into a large transport and logistics center have opened new opportunities for our country in terms of transportation and delivery of international e-commerce products. Using these opportunities, the project is currently underway in the area of functioning of the Azerbaijani Post as a regional transit mail center (HUB) for the implementation of interstate electronic commerce. For this purpose, a cooperation agreement was signed between "Azerpost" LLC and "Silk Way" Airline, which has extensive international aviation capabilities, and started operating in July 2016.
The project envisages the delivery of e-commerce products from China to the main cargo hub of the world through the local courier company operating in this country through the Silk Way Airline and imported to Azerbaijan and transmitted to the CIS and other countries as mail by Azerpost .
